I'm thinking that his/her pokemons are all cute but powerful ones..... I can allmost imagine a character in a pokemon game that randomly explores the world like the player and he/she can be battled with from time to time.... then he/she becomes your couple..... (i wish there was some harvestmoon pokemon crossbreed with a gigantic world that you can explore and your farm is an airship)
